
Are you a budding actor or actress that is looking to improve your skills? Well then, Starlight’s brand new Theater Camp is just the place for you. This camp is designed to help emerging thespians hone their skills. Participants will perform a 15 minute mini version of the musical Once On This Island on the Starlight stage.
Through song and dance this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island, guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and even death.Told with Caribbean rhythms and instruments, this Tony Award–winning musical is a testament that a beautiful story simply told has the power to inspire and heal all.
This performance will include individual speaking roles, solo singing, solo dancing, and some costuming along with amazing group singing and dancing. In addition to working on the actual performance, you will also have the opportunity to attend workshops that will teach you new skills.
